Description
This was a sketch based on a dream I had. It was about this overweight, sad-sack, loser, like someone out of a Chris Ware comic, who has to wear this clown outfit for his job. He comes from this large family with a lot of siblings and his parents have the voices of Phylicia Rashad and Bill Cosby, although his father never says much because he's too absorbed in the newspaper that is constantly obscuring his face. Part of the reason this guy is so depressed is his sister eloped with this scuzzy, no-good criminal type. In my dream, this guy's little brother and some girl burst into his apartment with the intention of stealing the clown head as part of a prank, but then the girl becomes distracted by this comic book the guy happens to have. I was kind of impressed with how coherent the narrative was in this dream as opposed to the usual sort of dreams I have.
I couldn't remember what the girl looked like so I made her my character Bianca in this sketch since it's not like I've given her much to do, plus to my way of thinking, she has the same sort of personality as the girl in my dream anyway, even if I pictured the girl being younger. From the date, I see I sketched this the day after my birthday.

I like having structured dreams like that. Where I can actually point out the beginning, middle and end. Usually it's just a string of unrelated randomness with amusing moments. Not that those aren't enjoyable, but it's still pretty damn neat when you witness a complete "story" within one dream.
There's a definitive contrast between the depressed loner stuck in a costume that oughtta inspire sillyness and Bianca's cartoony design and indifferent attitude toward her companion. Perhaps you could develop the loser's world and voilΓ , you've got a new character.
...Then again, you need to develop more out of your already-established roster, man! I've read you lack ideas and enthusiasm sometimes. I'd love to pitch out ideas for you, but I'd need more insight on what makes your characters what they are...
