I originally imagined Dot was pointing at something off in the distance, but now it kinda looks like she' trying to catch one of those sparkly lights on the end of her finger. What are those sparkly lights anyway and why I do I feel compelled to jazz up every fairy tale themed pic with them? Perhaps it's glitter coming off the rainbow. I know rainbows are more associated with the movie, but it's not like MGM has a copyright on rainbows. EDIT: Also, as I've been reminded, rainbows are a not uncommon fixture of the books as well.

Thanks! They do make rather a cute couple, don't they? Usually, I don't know what to make of slash pairings, but I have no problem accepting these two as being "more than just friends." Unintentional though it may have been, Baum seems to make it very easy to view their relationship as verging into the romantic. I left it so that people aren't necessarily required to interpret this pic one way or the other, but the idea of Dorothy and Ozma as a potential couple was never far from my mind as I worked on it.

I'm not sure whether Baum meant to or not either, but you're right, he definitely lead their relationship that way! I do know, however, that Baum was very supportive of women's rights, and he was known to have made a few comments about being comfortable with lesbians. :3 I always hoped that he did it on purpose!
Still though, beautiful picture. Best fanart I've seen of these two in a long while!
